Dr. Alex L. Tan, M.D., FPCS, FPSG was one of Pink October's speaker during the launching of The Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Abreeza Ayala Mall last October 5, 2013. Dr. Alex L. Tan,M.D., FPCS, FP is an expert in the medical field of Surgical oncology, a subspecialty of General Surgery. Surgical Oncology is the branch of surgery which focuses on the surgical management of cancer. 
He was the past president of Philippine College of Surgeons – Davao Southern Mindanao Chapter and Amuma Cancer Support Group Foundation, Inc. Dr. Tan was one of the Founding Board Member of the Philippine Breast Cancer Society. Dr. Tan is currently the President of Davao Cancer Society and is the Chairman for the Department of Surgery at CHDC Hospital in Davao City,Philippines.
Other positions of equal importance handled by Dr. Tan are :
1. Training officer - Department of Surgery - Davao Regional Hospital
2. Faculty member – Associated Professor III, Surgery Department at Davao Medical School Foundation
3. National Board Member – Philippine Society of General Surgeons Inc.
