Davao Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Nov. 24, 2013


The Davao Cancer Society is an affiliate of the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc. (PCSI). The Chapter Society is composed of doctors who are involved in treating patients afflicted with any type of cancer. The Chapter activities are mainly in the advocacies of cancer prevention and early detection by conducting a monthly lay forum of the top 10 cancers afflicting our country. During which, they also extend free patient services by consultation and referral.

This coming 24th of November 24, 2013, Davao Cancer Society, now headed by Dr. Alex Lay Tan, M.D., FPCS, FPSGS,  will be celebrating  Breast Cancer Awareness  and World Menopause Day at the activity center of NCCC Mall in Davao City, Philippines.


The Event will kick off with a motorcade at 10:00 a.m. from Magsaysay Park and will end at NCCC Mall by 11:00 a.m.

The following activities will follow :

1. Free breast screening
2. Free Ultrasound
3. Free biopsy, cytology result will be readied while the patient waits.

Lectures on breast cancer awareness will be given and testimonies will also be heard from survivors of cancer. Other freebies include Bone Densitometry Exam to check for Osteoporosis and Free Anlene Milk.

Davao Cancer Society is expecting about 800 - 1,000 patients for the said event.  Asia's Emergency Medical Services Institute, Inc. with its affiliate, Compass Emergency Assistance Service Team, Inc. will also be participating in said event.
