Volunteerism the principle of donating time and energy for the benefit of other people in the community as a social responsibility rather than for any financial reward. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity and is intended to promote good or improve human quality of life.

In return, this activity can produce a feeling of self-worth and respect. There is no financial gain involved. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development, socialization, and fun. It is also intended to make contacts for possible employment. Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work, such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue. Others serve on an as-needed basis, such as in response to a natural disaster.

Community volunteering refers to volunteers who work to improve community enhancement efforts in the area in which they live. Neighborhood, church, and community groups play a key role in building strong cities from the neighborhoods up. Supporting these understaffed groups can enable them to succeed in a variety of areas, which connect social, environmental, and economic boundaries. Volunteers can conduct a wide range of activities. Numerous community organizations exist to facilitate volunteering, some are affiliated with academic organizations and Compass Emergency Assistance Service Team Inc. is one of the many volunteer organizations with whom Asia's Emergency Medical Services Institute, Inc. (AEMS Institute, Inc.) is working with.

Benefits of volunteering include new networking contacts, development of new skills, an enhanced resume, new work experience, greater self-esteem and self-confidence, meeting new people, feeling valued and the most important of all ....HAVING MADE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE.
