October is National Scouting Month!

October of every year is the celebration of Scouting Month as declared under Presidential Proclamation No. 1326. 

Presidential Proclamation No. 267 has also declared the month of October of every year as “National Children’s Month” to emphasize the importance on the role of the child within the Filipino family and within the Philippine Society. The same Proclamation upheld the Constitutional declaration which “the State recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation building and shall promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth, patriotism and nationalism, and encourage their involvement in public and civic affairs’ (Section 13, Article III)”.

Activities during the National Scouting Month  focuses on the following areas: 

a. Leadership, Character & Skills Development 

b. Challenging and Adventurous Activities 

c. Emergency Preparedness and Response Training 

d. Community Service and Community Development 

e. Environmental Projects (e.g. protecting water resources, energy conservation, planting trees, recycling waste

The Compass Team of AEMS Institute, Inc. is very much involved in First Aid and Emergency Preparedness and Response Training with the Girls Scouts of the Philippines whose main camp and head office in Davao City is at Camp Alano,Toril.

The Compass Team receiving the certificate of recognition from the Girls Scout of the Philippines Council for their valuable and voluntary contribution of their talents and skills to the organization.
